It is available through Credentia, a national testing service responsible for scheduling and delivering the exam in designated states. The written/oral test focuses on three primary domains: Physical Care Skills (64%) Activities of Daily Living (22%) – covering hygiene, nutrition, hydration, elimination, and comfort. Basic Nursing Skills (35%) – including infection control, safety, technical procedures, and data reporting. Self-Care/Independence (7%) – focused on prevention and client independence. Psychosocial Care Skills (10%) Emotional and Mental Health Needs (8%) – addressing clients' emotional and mental well-being. Spiritual and Cultural Needs (2%) – ensuring respect for cultural and spiritual differences. Role of the Nurse Aide (26%) Communication (7%) – effective communication with clients and healthcare teams. Client Rights (8%) – understanding and advocating for patients' rights. Legal and Ethical Behavior (5%) – adhering to legal and ethical standards in care. Member of the Healthcare Team (6%) – collaborating within healthcare teams. Skills Test The skills test evaluates your ability to perform five key nursing tasks in a simulated work environment, with a Nurse Aide Evaluator assessing your performance. Candidates have 30 minutes to complete all tasks on a volunteer who simulates a frail patient. Each task consists of specific steps, and one "Critical Step" must be performed correctly to pass. All candidates are required to demonstrate proper hand hygiene, along with four randomly assigned tasks. One of these tasks will involve measuring and recording vital signs, such as blood pressure or urinary output. Please forward all errors, questions and comments to help.testprep@gmail.com.
